I kept meaning to do some more photo editing of the shoot [livejournal.com profile] crisis_averted and myself did in Gary last week, because now I am home and reunited with my Photoshop-enabled computer, but I've been busy, and [livejournal.com profile] theophile and I (and the tadpole) are going to New Mexico this week, so I will just post a bunch that I did some rudimentary editing on using Picassa, and at some later point maybe I will post some properly edited ones. Gary is fucking amazing. On our itinerary was the usual trifecta--the post office, the train station, and the church, but we also ended up visiting an old high school auditorium. Both of us have shot at the church a number of times before, so this time instead of shooting interiors we just played dress-up and had fun.

this weekend I took some pretty pictures of [livejournal.com profile] poxyd--I particularly like how the ones with the vintage mirror came out:

THEN we went to check out the abandoned church/monastery that is, for once, quite close to my house. We got there as the sun was setting already, so the lighting was low and then was gone, I didn't have my tripod with me, so I didn't get too many photographs, but I got a few...I need to go back again soon in early morning to catch some of that orange light...also there is a lovely overgrown courtyard that is pretty open, I will probably stop by there some time this week just to take a few more photos of the lovely dilapidated madonna statue amidst the wet yellow leaves.

Actually I think when I go back to the courtyard I will try out something new...hopefully a new camera-medium to photograph images from dreams. I just need some cardboard and black tape to make it happen...

As I am putting together the website, I come across some photos that I never edited when I first took them and playing with them. Here are a few

winterish (this one won't go up in the gallery, the focus is not all that, but I just really like it for some reason)

also today driving home I accidentally took a wrong turn and, while trying to get back on the road, stumbled across something that most definitely merits further investigation. I drove around it slowly, but had a Passenger with me, which made it impossible to do further recon.
