i was gonna write this whole thing this morning about this "AOL news" piece that pissed me off, it was all about Roe vs Wade, and was very unsubtly catering to the pro-lifers, saying things like "Exhausted Ms Whatever drove 13 hours to DC to have her say about the fact that unborn children must be protected" and using various rhetoric devices to valorize/humanize the pro-lifers, and giving minimum chilly coverage to the pro-choice activities like the NARAL dinner, etc. i was gonna post the whole article but then the computer crashed, which is probably for the best because doing in-depth textual analysis would have just really pissed me off.

the latest Economist had an interesting analysis of the whole abortion contraversy, and how Europe avoided it by medicalizing the issue and making the discourse about it technological, where in American it was doomed to become political because it was made into this moral/constitutional issue of binaries and absolutes.
