last night i had a dream that [livejournal.com profile] nuncstans gave me, as a present, an edition of Borges' Labyrynths, illustrated by M.C.Escher.
i know that book does not exist, but it really, really should.

uh, for anyone who has not repressed/Orwelled the Niger fiasco (falsified documents presented by Powell, having to do with the Iraqi "nuclear threat") theck out this piece of Lies, Damned Lies and PNAC in response to Joseph Wilson's open letter/editorial in this Sunday's Times, about how he notified the CIA that there was no connection with Saddam.

also, The Shrub's I Dreamed of Africa itinerary is in.

He's bringing the 12 Days of Christmas, the Eleven days of September, the Ten Commandments, the Nine (top) reasons for bombing the shit out of Baghdad civilians, 8 inches of pure Sock stuffed in his pants, Seven leprechauns, Six, tattooed on his ass in between two other sixes, Five baggies of cocaine, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Three blind mice, Two brain cells, and his burning Self to South Africa, Botswana, Uganda and Nigeria. And, I think, Senegal, in keeping with visiting "the good countries" that aren't too much of this white man's burden.
Keep in mind, he is going to South Africa, but dissing Nelson Mandela, who spoke out against the war. Lucky Nelson Mandela. Apparently Bush mistakenes positive reward for negative reinforcement. Skinner would have no use for him. No one has any use for him. Bush is also not attending the African Union summit in Maputo, Mozambique, but that's probably for the best since in all probability, in lieu of correctly pronouncing the name of the place, and in a fit of his baseline, constantly manifested cultural dyslexia, Bush would just delightedly yelp "that's where that black Hawk went down!"

ha! totally. i just got this visual of cheney doing the Dr. Evil from Austin Powers "preemptive Sh!" on Dubya any time he tries to open his mouth. it is a sinister, yet surprisingly pleasing image.

disrespect or disinvited?

i'm not so sure about the "disrespecting mandela" interpretation i've heard in a number of places. it's just as possible the mandela has no use for shrub, who could say he's taking the high road and overlooking mandela's remarks about shrub not being able to think correctly (i.e., can't use logic) also, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that shrub and company are afraid to visit mandela because he wouldn't give them any promises that he wouldn't criticize shrub in public or private. one thing to remember about shrub is that he is a coward. another is that he's thin-skinned.

well, whatever, because the US in the position of power, it looks like a snub, rather than cowardly avoidance, which it undoubtedly is, on many levels. but the power hierarchy dictates a certain official interpretation that all the PR parties are aware of.

not long after mandela was released, he was interviewd by ted koppel, who was taking the establishment, "common-wisdom" viewpoint that dealing with cuba was a sin and asked mandela, essentially, to express contrition. mandela didn't back down an inch and koppel was, for once, briefly speechless. mandela would chew up the little chimp. shrub's people know this, and they've made a political calculation that it's better to avoid mandela than to take a chance on winning some "statesmanship" points.

I like your dream. I'm anonymously at work, like The Stranger or any number of exy wankers.

i know several Ns, none of whom are at work this early, to the best of my knowledge.

i really prefer it when anonymous posters identify themselves with more than an initial.
