also, i must be completely insane, because despite the fact that i have to wake up at 7.30 every morning for class, despite the fact that i stayed out until 2am last night (not a big deal normally, but see above re: 7.30 am thing), despite the fact that i have plans tonight, tomorrow night, friday night and saturday night, despite the fact that i am going to spend all sunday in the editing room, i bought tickets to see elliott smith in philadelphia on tuesday night, which means i probably won't be back in NYC until, like, 3 in the morning, assuming all goes well and the chinatown bus does not crash into the meridian like the last time (that was when, en route to DC, it crashed into the tollbooth-dividing meridian on the interstate, which set in motion a chain of events, including a punctured tire, a busted toilet, a rapidly spreading smell of urine, and a misguided Good Samaritan type, who went through the bus isle, spraying everyone with some ghetto cheap perfume in an attempt to mediate the olfactory bathroom fiasco, which ended with him accidentally spraying some big guy in the eye, and getting punched out for his troubles). but hey, whatever, because i am going to go to philadelphia, and have dinner with angeli, and see elliott smith. yay.

i used to dance around my apartment with awk to the waltzes on that album. i'd spin, and he would bob his head. i'm excited you are going, even though you have 8 billion things to do. think of awk when you are there... i haven't been able to listen to xo since awk died. let me know when is a good time to give you a call... and if you have a chance, while you are in philly, go to pod for some sushi. it's a good trip.

i will think of awk and of you while at the concert. i don't think i can fully express how sorry i am about awk. your goodbye to him was so beautiful. i am sorry i never got to meet him...i am only going to be in philadelphia for a couple of hours before the show to have dinner with my friend angeli, and we'll probably just go to a diner or something...i hope you can still smoke in diners in philly...and then i have to head straight back to NYC after the show because stupid school is in the morning. apparently all these oberlin people are going. no escape anywhere! ahhh! call me any time during the day on sat. and any time sunday night...or i can call you; when are you going to be around? oh, totally don't worry about forgetting to ask about the lightmeter, it's very understandable that you had other things on your mind. i did procure one, but it's a really ghetto lightmeter, let's just say my film has been consistently underexposed, so if bj has a digital one, i would love to borrow it for the film i'm doing next week. tell him hi from me, and tell him that i don't understand how he does film school. i've been doing this for three weeks and i feel like i am about to keel over, and i have not even started on my "big project" yet, i have no idea how i am going to do that one, and it makes me want to cry and the goddamn TAs are no help because they are asshole undergrad film majors.

oh, and congratulations on getting the job!!! (i just checked my email and read yours). i'm so excited for you! when do you start? to you have to work with Alascan motorcycle man?
