Also we saw this wicked cool bird. Does anyone know what it is?







We also saw a super-cool duck (above), but I do know it is a duck. I still really want to know what the first bird is.

The super cool bird is also a duck! A Mandarin duck, to be exact. The 2nd duck is called a Wood duck. Boring name for such a pretty bird!

Yep, it's a Canard Mandarin (sorry I don't know the english name).

They are only like this once a year in the fall and the rest of the year they look like regular old ducks.
My dad has some he got for his pond and he sent me photos, that's how i know! Aren't they beautiful?!

wow, they really look like ordinary ducks the rest of the time? Even the shape of it seemed different...also I had never seen a "regular" duck puff up like that--this one looked like a ball at one point. They are gorgeous!

I shouldn't be surprised, people react this way to my sister too. She is also from my dad's first marriage and has three kids. Doesn't look as much like me as yours looks like you, and probably says "wicked" more than both of you. (One of your photos really showed off the resemblance.)
