Sharp as a tack! Love the shots. How did you do the B&W processing?

thank you! The BW I do with channel mixer on monochrome, usually with the red channel at zero or almost zero, add in some light smart sharpening and gaussian blur, and play with the contrast until it is to my satisfaction. Sometimes I add light gold tint with low opacity (around 15%-20%) as a "soft light" layer.

GORGEOUS! I am always playing with how to be a respectful street photographer....in general I like to take pictures of subjects I know well. I was being adventurous and asking: like asked a shoe repair man to take pictures of his shop and him fixing shoes that came out amazing; and now the shop is history, gone, so thats great. I think about some of the people on my street - I didn't want to take "exploitive" pictures of, it always feels weird to pull out a camera a bit, a bit like a hunter, or immediately creating an "other" in the other you walk by all the time and say hello. but now I think, some of these folks are dead, and no one will ever know, time goes on. maybe it would have been good to take pictures.

I feel its a delicate balance, but sometimes the more you take pictures, then the easier it becomes. also people get used to you. oh, your always taking pictures. or a way to make that not weird, easier, more participatory.

I took pictures of everyone at my cousins memmorial because my aunt asked me too and it was fun but even then I felt stalking a bit, I get in the mode with a camera. I become more detached, looking. But I LOVE it.
anyway, your street photography seems very very comfortable. you are good with taking snap shots of people if they see you or not? or how do you do it?

prob. there will always be that line, somehow. BUT BEAUTIFUL! really really.

I do like it. I still miss my D80 though. I think replacing my 1.8 50mm lens will help.
