December 6 Workshop or conference. Was there a conference or workshop you attended that was especially beneficial? Where was it? What did you learn?

I can't really answer this with all the specifics, because things that are academically identifying is stuff I usually keep locked and filtered...but I did go to a wonderful small conference two months ago, gave a paper as a part of a panel on resource extraction, and learned a lot of fascinating things about the gendering of gold vs. diamond mining, among other things.

Unrelated to this, I watched the latest two episodes of Dollhouse, and I just want to say that I love characters playing other characters because of things like body possession on Joss Whedon's show . When Faith and Buffy switched bodies in season 4 of BtVS, that was such a delight to watch. SMG was really good at adopting Eliza Dushku's Faith acting signatures, and vice versa. But this week, the actor playing Victor playing Victor with Topher's brain downloaded into him was amazing! He got ALL of Topher's/Fran Kranz's quirks and tics, he SOUNDED like him, he LOOKED like him--it was awesome! Also I just love seeing Alexis Denisof...so sad Dollhouse is being cancelled.
