Good lord, your photos make the world look beautiful. I mean, it is beautiful. But not that beautiful, and not that consistently.

I went to see my friend who lives in Bergen, and then we drove North and East from there, to kind of northern-central Norway (not all the way North). We drove up to and camped around the town called Stryn.

these are lovely. i've been considering norway as an elopement destination. but isn't it pricey?

well it is for a lot of things, but I didn't pay for most of them. food in restaurants is expensive and I think so are hotels, but campgrounds are everywhere, and the little wooden cabins on those campgrounds are pretty cheap (and very clean, great amenities, etc.) Because I stayed with my friend and we drove in her car and we camped it was a very cheap trip for me...

why not Italy? It will be warm there come fall...Norway might not be...

true! but italy is tough because dave also has italian citizenship, and it's questionable whether the marriage would be valid (to him as an american) once we return. lots of paperwork and such. i don't have the energy. we will just be engaged another decade!

I am so confused...if you get married in Norway where neither of you is a citizen, then it's def. valid, but if you get married in Italy where Dave is a citizen (that's why I was thinking of it as an option), it might not be valid? Does that go for the entire EU?
