when i was a teenager, i was baby sitting a 2 year old. she stepped on an ant & asked, "where him go?" i flippantly remarked that the ant was dead. she looked at the bottom of her sneaker & and started to cry, "Him dead! Ant dead! oooh nooOoo!" she cried as if she had lost a friend. i had no idea.
there was no youtube. there was no camera. there was only an exhausted me because Fionn was terribly congested all last night, slept upright buckled in the car seat, and woke up every half an hour because he dropped his attachment object teddy bear and started wailing for it, so I had to wake up and hand it to him. in the morning he was peppy, but I was not.
awwww. But I won't--if I brought him to NYC, that would severely limit what I potentially want to do in NYC (i.e. run all around town, see a million people, Yaffa until 3 in the morning, go on random adventures that always seem to pop up there, stay up and hang out with you and missmimesis until wee hours). Also, his grandparents taking him for a few days means I DON'T HAVE TO GET UP WITH HIM! also I wouldn't take Fionn on a Chinatown bus, that would be such a disaster!
