I am watching the footage on our newly-hooked-up TV. Jesse Jackson crying. Everyone crying in joy. People joyous in the streets in my beloved New York. People dancing in the streets in Germany and in France.

The world feels different. The weltschmerz of the last 8 years feels like it has lifted.

The whole world is celebrating. You can tell it's no regular election, there's something at a much deeper level going on. Amazing to see.

I saw Jesse too. Mine were tears of relief as well as joy. Lots of pent-up not-wanting-to-hope coming out.
