What is industrial photography? Photographs of industry, or industrially produced photography?

the former! stuff like Margaret Bourke-White and Lewis Wickes Hine. Any academic work/theory about that sort of photography.

There's been quite a bit written about the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher, which I greatly admire. The catalog for their big Tate show was written by Blake Stimson, and might be worth your reading.
