Last night I dreamt that Fionn was a Teddy boy.

I think this was because right before I went to sleep theophile was snuggling the sound-asleep baby, and remarked: "I have the best teddy bear ever."

So in the dream I traveled to London (mistakenly as I had meant to go to Prague), and was staying in this strange art-nouveau hotel room with subdued golden-red wallpaper, warm in the March sunlight, and I was confused as to how I ended up there without Fionn. Then I went to look around Goodge Street where I lived when I was 20 (in real life), and Fionn was there, dressed as a Teddy boy, and in the dream I understood that I already did right by him, that he was never going to be a cog in the capitalist machine, that his life would be more beautiful than that...and he looked so cute in his Edwardian suit with a velvet collar. I carried him in one arm and in the other arm I held an umbrella that had a swan's neck and head instead of the stem and the handle.

At first I thought you meant that Fionn had grown up to be a (teenaged or young adult) teddy boy, and I wondered how you were carrying him in one arm.

I don't always have the best dreams. Sometimes I have nights after nights of bleak, non-vivid anxiety dreams.
