Fionn and I went over to beginnersmind's house to hang out with her and Maiya before the two of them departed back to China. They should be in media res of their travels and possibly in the air at the moment.

Actually, I love the baby pictures. I come for the anthropology but I stay for the babies, as it were. The decaying building photos are fab, but I'm just as happy to see photos of your kid.

so cute!! I really love the one of fionn with the spoon and the dresser...he's like, "I am internalizing my object-world and I am feeling ok about that right now!!" (yes that's my pop-Melanie Klein, obviously...) also I love how you and apropos are all about applying Kleinian readings and theories of the unconscious to Fionn and his images--last night on gchat B. was, like, "omg these pictures are like the illustrations of the oral stage and the mirror stage..." then she saw my caption for the panda picture on flickr and added "and, I guess, the panda stage."
