The abandoned train stowed away behind the Fairway in Redhook is the most accessible and non-stealth-requiring urban decay place I have ever photographed, but no less beautiful for that.

Oh, I love those. And I love how they are just leaving them there. Do you know if there is a plan for them or the tracks? I think about all the changes in Red Hook and the lack of transportation and wonder if someone has an idea of reviving trolley service.

I don't think there is a plan. There is a dude who's been grassrooting to revive/use them, but I am pretty sure they are there to stay/rust away.

thanks! and sadly I no longer live in NYC, however to get there you go to Red Hook, you can get there by taking the F/G to Smith/9th, then either walk or take the bus to the water taxi stand, there is a big Fairway there, and it's right in the back of the Fairway, next to the outdoor cafe or something they have there.

Ooooooh I love these! How did you get them to look like that if you don't mind me asking. I imagine photoshop but they just look so good!

thanks! well, the light was really good when I shot them, that pre-sunset light that deepens and enriches the colors, and then mostly just adjusting curves and a bit with the selective colors.
