lapsedmodernisti was uptown more this weekend than i have been in the last month. sat. night i went to see rami's band, the sportcoats, they are hilarious in that ironic hipster way. my favorite song was 2184 about a guy who is cryogenically frozen in space and wakes up in 2184, whic has the funniest lyric samples from gloria gaynor's "i will survive" against this techno-y yet operatically dramatic performance. apparently in 2184 everyone is gay, so at first he is "afraid, he is petrified" but then he learnes to live with it, and he is quite literally back from outer space.
then yesterday charlie and i went to see sonic youth, they were playing a free concert in central park. kim gordon is just sooo cute. there were like three thousand people, and it was really hot, but it was really great, and we had cherry and pineapple popsicles and hot dogs.
have to clean my room today. it's approaching primordial chaos at this point.
