the abandoned castle. we hiked 7 kilometers through the woods and the fields and came across it in the last hour before the sun set.

these next two photos are here not for artistic value, but to illustrate the fact that as soon as we got to the castle, six or seven goats showed up on premises. The girl goats made a beeline for theophile and proceeded to follow him around the castle, while the boy goats seemed to grow increasingly more and more chagrinned with this state of events.

which ones are Tolkienesque? I assume you mean the castle, although when I was setting up the shot for #3, I was thinking that it looked like what I had imagined Rivendale looked like.

All of them convey that kind of out-of-time, fairytale feeling - though I guess the angel (first one) is a little more gormenghast than LOTR. And yeah, 3 does look a little like rivendale (although looking closer, are those trompe l'oiel stones _painted_ on the side of the bridge?) - the abandoned castle could be the ruins on weathertop. And goats, of course, for his evocation of country life.

the 3rd, 4th and 5th were taken there, the castle is not far from it, it's about 7km hike from a village that is maybe 15 minutes north of it.
