The strangest thing about that (terrifying) article is the bizarrely laid-back responses from Kerry and Dean. "They played tough games and certainly had an intent to reduce the level of our vote" ... "I think there are clearly states where it is questionable whether everybody's vote is being counted" ... "I'm not confident that the election in Ohio was fairly decided" ... "we'd like to safeguard our elections" -

I mean, these guys should be enraged. They should be screaming bloody murder and throwing lawsuits around like hand grenades and shouting at people to get out on the street and protest.

But then that's what's bewildered me about America for the last three years. Practically everybody (on the anti-Bush side) is bitterly ironic and cynically resigned, when y'all oughta be furious, there should be a hundred thousand people camped out on Pennsylvania Avenue every day. Full of, you know, passionate intensity. But I guess Yeats was right.
