They're all lovely, but I particularly like the one of the puzzle on the wall. That's not something you see everyday.

Thank you! It was very strange...it was all faded, and sort of blending into the wall, old texture upon old texture...

Yes, it's the textures and fade that got me - I had to look hard to see what it was, too. At first I thought it was some incredibly detailed graffiti! heh

By the way, next time I'm in NYC (no clue when that'll be, probably not until '07 given how my schedule's shaping up for this year), want to go prowling about for photographs together? I'm generally a nature photographer, but I adore dilapidated architecture, too. Here are some of my recents that I posted over on my dA account that you might like I was going to post them here, but I'll just post 'em in an entry in my own journal so as not to clutter up your page. If you have any thoughts on any of them, I'd love to hear it. You have really great technique.

Heh, I actually moved to Boston last summer. All of these are in Massachussets. BUT I am in NYC frequently (I try to go about once a month), and if we happened to be there at the same time, I would love to photo-prawl with you! And I just looked at your DA gallery (I really have to upload all of my stuff to mine), those are gorgeous! I love the tree spirit, the door within a door and I absolutely love the texture on waiting for spring. More comments when I am not running out the door, but yes, I love the idea of running around/photographing with you.

Ah - sweet. I didn't realize you were in Boston. I've never been to Boston. So, whenever I head out that general direction we can figure something out one way or the other.

that could possibly be arranged :)

re: tomorrow--what sort of food are you in the mood for? Also should I come get you after work? I am done teaching at about 2 so I can pick you up or meet you whenever.

xoxo

The summer pic one looks a *lot* like a place out in Concord that my ex took me to for a picnic about 10 years ago.

I think that might not be a record player, but instead one of those player-piano-ish things. there was one up at Cape Elizabeth; I don't know if you'd remember, or if we even got it working while you were there-- the "records" were all bent, and the springs shot, so operating it was a painful manual process.

now I am confused. When you explained it, I was thinking, it was like a gigantic, vertically-oriented music-box...spindle? Is that what those things are called? Now I am visualizing, like, bronze records that look like they have braille script on them?
