Stills from an upcoming Music Video Event with Ms. amadea.
You may listen to the song here. sunlit amadea is like Mary Poppins, but with a boombox instead of an umbrella off Lake Shore Drive shedding skins and other things
so guess what, as I was about to turn onto Lake Shore Drive off Hyde Park I was in the left turn pocket and the light was red and I saw that the street sign said "Lake Shore Drive" right there. So I quickly whipped out the camera and got a shot while the light was red. I actually saw it change back to green thorugh the viewfinder.
oh, I forgot all about the witch baby camera. I read those books a really long time ago. Appropriately enough, when I was living in Los Angeles. I think I have a very counterinuitive relationship with taking pictures. Instead of doing it to document reality, doing it makes things like dreamlike in my memory, so the more I take pictures, the more my memory bank is converted into dreamlike contours and colors.
Unrelatedly, this is the painting I was trying to describe to you when we were doing that first scene
These are from the digital camera. So I don't know if they are stills, strictly speaking. A couple of them are in media res, and a couple are sort of between takes, but they capture the atmosphere and the costumes.
All in all there were six separate "scenes": -amadea lounging around in a sunlit bed -amadea gothed out playing keyboard on a breakfast counter -amadea in a dilapidated kind of alley -amadea on the lakeshore -amadea on the phone, singing into the telephone -amadea driving around in a car.
There are about 2 hours of footage in total, I looked over it, some of it is only partially usable (like the first take of the kitchen counter one, because it ended up being too dark), but I think there will be enough for you to play with.
I just started wondering if I couldn't import some stills, but I just realized I don't have any of my camera cords with me, so it will have to wait until I am back home.
I wouldn't discount dark scenes as unusable-- I was planning on using AfterEffects for this, which has a much more robust set of image controls than Premiere, and any shots which are too dark to use in their full form I can still use for subtle overlays and transitions. I look forward to seeing the footage!
