Today I got to run around the abandoned Metro mental asylum, courtesy of Lou Fancy and Spoon. I just took a long shower, washing pigeon shit off my hands and asbestos out of my hair, and here are a few of the photos (these are digital, but I also shot 3 rolls with my 35MM SLR).

What an incredible location for shooting!!! It's a photographer's paradise. Where is that, anyhoo?

I hope some of that graffitti in the cafeteria contained at least one "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"...

Nice work, by the way.

It's a bit West of Boston.

And yes, it was an amazing place to photograph!

Didn't see the Shining graffiti, but plenty of other inspired writings on the wall(s).

Thank you thank you thank you. I was just looking at those pics and going out of my mind (uh... pun sort of intended) trying to remember the name of that movie. Which completely gave me nightmares, and which I loved.

Session 9 was filmed in a hospital about 30 minutes east of this one.

What an interesting and rich environment for photography; thank you so much for sharing these.

Oh, and if you haven't already been told so today, you're a beautiful woman. Good to see you work yourself into the photographs (though I'm assuming someone else took those, because it's tricky to set a timer then run inside the building quickly!).

it's just outside of Boston, it's one of the Massachussets asylums that were shut down in the eighties due to funding cutbacks. I love buildings like these too. if you are into this sort of stuff you might find this website interesting, it's based out of NYC
