Dear livejournal genie,

Where can I buy a pair of black-and-white striped tights between now and Friday?

I need them for my Halloween Costume.

Mercy.

There's always the Garment District, too; their wares seems to be eclectic enough to warrant a search.

hot topic, fredrick's, and costume shops usually have them. down on haight in san francisco there's this killer store (it caters to drag queens!) that has every kind of tights you could ever want.... of course, that doesn't help you much!

In the Penn Station Terminal there's a Sock store that has those kind of tights. If you need more specific instructions tell me but it's like right in there!

Yeah, Hootenany's in the Garage in Harvard Square would likely have them, though probably they'd be pricey. There used to be a Sock Shop at Downtown Crossing and they would certainly have a wide variety of tights. Downtown Crossing might be a good place to look in general - there are a lot of little departmentsy stores.

there actually still is that same sock store in downtown crossing and they indeed do have a bunch of stripey tights. (they just moved down a store or two from where they were but i swear they're still called super socks or the sock store.)

Downtown crossing has a place that carries mostly socks and tights and costume jewelry. It's on the seedy side of Winter Street in the block before Tremont. There's also Filene's basement, possibly. They often have cute knee socks and tights for cheap.

Yeah, that's the place I was thinking of. Is it still there? The one in Kenmore shut down.

alas and alack, not my local Target, apparently! I went and the only stripey thing they had were these fuzzy socks out of that material that's like a cross between bathmats and shag carpeting.

:(

I will have to improvise.

Hootenany in the Garage in Harvard Square, there used to be a sock shop in Kenmore Square (near Deli Haus, Nuggets,) if any od that is even still there, or Allston Beat on Newbury. Good luck.
