CNN Poll: Bush would lose an election if held this year

In the latest poll, 55 percent of the respondents said that they would vote for the Democratic candidate if Bush were again running for the presidency this year. Thirty-nine percent of those interviewed said they would vote for Bush in the hypothetical election.

Fuck you, CNN. He didn't win in 2004, either. Nor in 2000. He has never won a POTUS election.

C'mon, CNNasty, who's the unnamed Democrat? Could it be John Kerry, and the same 55% that actually voted for him, before being disenfranchised of their votes by Diebold machines, would vote for him today?

thank you! all credit goes to [livejournal.com profile] theophile.

I never know what to use it for, because it's me flipping the bird, but I am smiling, so I can't use it for, like, Really Grim events, but I think it worked in this case, because Fuck You, CNN is my theme song, but I also feel very vindicated by this poll.

Yeah, I have a hard time figuring out when to use this icon, because I don't really get mad at that many people on LJ, but I suppose it could come in handy every once in awhile.

I love the icon, too!

I don't know if I have as much faith in the American people as you do, though. Bush definitely stole the first election, but in the second, although he skimmed by with the smallest margin of any encumbent in American history yet still claimed a "mandate", and though there were many irregularities in Ohio, I don't think it would be as easy to prove outright larceny like it was in 2000. Besides, if we Americans weren't so ignorant to begin with, it wouldn't have been close enough to steal.

But I agree with you in spirit.

Back in the day, right after the 2004 election, I made a resource list of circumstantial evidence of voter fraud in two parts, which you can find here and here. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that this election was stolen. Your point is right on in the sense that it was close enough to steal, meaning enough people voted for Bush in earnest to enable this, but if the numbers had been counted properly Kerry should have won. Furthermore, I hear from people who know people that Kerry's campaign knew this happened, but there was nothing they could do legally without a whistleblower.

P.S., thought you might enjoy this hypothetical scenario (http://delong.typepad.com/sdj/2005/10/this_just_holog.html)

*hums along to the theme song*

a possible tune for your theme song, bob dylan's "ballad of a thin man":

"because something is happening here,
but you don't know what it is.
fuck you, cnn"

hey! I am not sure I am up for Toast (it's a dance club, no?) tonight as I am sort of meandering through this autumn cold with sniffles and coughs and hoping it will go away before the weekend Halloween parties, but I would love to run into you at some point on purpose. Anyway, I'm going to email you now, so that you have my email and # and such.
