From the Living in Amerika Files: (it's WONDERBRA!) (click on the image below for the best music video ever)

According to the Times, when faced with accusations that hamburgers were inimical to the country's diet, Den Fujita, the first McDonald's Japan president, declared: "The reason Japanese people are so short and have yellow skins is because they have eaten nothing but fish and rice for 2,000 years. If we eat McDonald’s hamburgers and potatoes for a thousand years we will become taller, our skin become white and our hair blond."

PS: The New Ronald McDonald is a girl!

This is a beacon! A storm-petrel! A Girl President cannot be far behind. In the rearview mirror of PopKultur, she is already here

That Ronald McDonald girl looks alternately hot and inspirational of a good scrubbing with the brain bleach, sort of like one of those weird 3D posters that fuck your eyes all up.

Wow, I haven't seen Rammstein in so long! That was hilarious.

Anyone understand enough of the German to be able to tell me whether it's worth looking up the lyrics in English?

I loved the ring-around-the-rosie scene and the cheerleader pyramid.

Perfect.

I find her creepy, like Ronnie Mic-Dee was creepy, but actually creepier. A fairytale gone wrong, or some kind of fast-food franchise spin on a reality show. Maybe seeing her in a bikini would make the transition easier.

I'm actually really curious to see what a population would look like if they did indeed eat McDonalds as their primary food source for 2000 years. Would they still exist?

Here's another video you might like, in case you haven't already caught it:

A film from 1946 shown in schools regarding the topic of despotism...

Haven't seen that video in a while. Those Germans know what they're doing.

...Oh, and the female Ronald contagion has also spread to the Philippines.

(super late comment)

on my honeymoon we went down the danube from vienna to the black sea. (a river cruise... i wanted to see as much of E. Europe as possible, and you got plenty of free time, and in their defense, small river cruises are nothing like large tropical cruises.) at one point we lost our western europe sattelite feed and switched over to another one. one of the stations was a polish music station.

i learned 2 things:
1) their music is all political (and i didn't get what they were upset about, other than in the Amerika song.)
2) they really like loud rock 'em out angry music. (at least on this station)

i particurally loved this video so thank you for providing me a means to dl it so i can get it stuck in my head to my heart's content.

it is very odd, comming from an American MTV perspective (though i don't have tv and don't really watch it, but it permiates society nonetheless) to see that the vast majority of music from a place seemed to have political content. if i had the time or resources, i'm sure this would be a fun thing to research.
