Date: 2005-09-15 05:39 pm (UTC)make a new layer, set the transparency to multiply (to start, you can try others later), put the type on that layer, adjust opacity of the layer to your tastes, and flatten.
i'm not really sure what you're looking for exactly. if you could point me to an image of what you want, i could be more specific.

Date: 2005-09-15 06:06 pm (UTC)it's best to use a vector-based watermark if your photos vary wildly in size--you can also look into digital tracking if theft is a problem--we use Digimark.
if you have to watermark a bunch of photos it's worth writing a "droplet" (automated action sequence) in photoshop.

Date: 2005-09-20 07:44 am (UTC)Example:
I normally do mine with .2 all the way around (with the "relative" box checked) in black, then choose another colour, go back into the menu and do .01 around that.
of course, i know nothing of layers or any of that stuff, so perhaps the other way is easier or works more efficiently, i don't know! a photoshop wizard i most definitely AM NOT! :)
i look forward to more of your photos!
