and it was like a postcard
and last night, you say, you dreamed of that bright blue morning
she floated as she took his photograph
then I floated up and took his picture
chilled nica, on the rocks
a chilled Nica on the rocks, please
kinetic energy
kinetic energy
a boy and his dog
The Dog Star
the remnants of the buildings entwined like vines
the building was layered and lit up by the sun like a fossil birthday cake
the world at the edge of the ocean
the world at the edge of the ocean
I didn't blend
on the sharp archaic shore

Thanks for sharing. I think I've been getting better updates on your gentleman friend now that you're posting these things.

Lovely. Welcome back. (I went kayaking, too, yesterday, just enough to get surnburned, about an hour into the Hudson.)

I went kayaking for the first time (for real) in Maine! It was lovely.

I'll call you today, just tell me when is good...

Damn. For once I'm doing what the cool chicks are doing. I kayaked in Maine last week. I only got to be out on a lake for less than an hour, but it made me want to do more.

I did my Maine kayaking in the ocean, which I assumed would be kind of scary, because despite being very well balanced, the kayak looks like something very precarious, but actually it was not scary at all except for this one moment when I found myself gliding over rocks that were obviously right below my kayak, and that made me uneasy b/c it reminded me of this mishap, but otherwise it was lovely, pretty soon I was even into riding the waves a little bit.

That sounds super fun. I know [livejournal.com profile] syntheticnature gets very excited about ocean kayaking. So does [livejournal.com profile] soong but I think he's only done it in SB where the Channel Islands offer quite a bit of protection. I think I'll get him to go out kayaking with me when I get back there.

I LOVED kayaking again- this is the second time my friend Heidi and I have done it in the Hudson- next month (the 24th) we're doing a 3 hour tour around Battery Park and to Governor's Island. I just loving getting to see the city from another perspective that most people don't get.
