So, apparently, if you fall asleep at 8.30 PM, wake up at 1 AM and take half a vicodin, you will sleep, on and off, until 11 AM Sunday morning.

Sorry, everyone, who tried to call me/whom I didn't call yesterday at the mermaid parade. My cell phone died en route to Coney Island because the night before I had thoughtfully inserted charger into phone, but forgot to actually plug the charger into the wall.

The mermaid parade was fantastic, and I was deliriously happy for the first four hours or so, and then just delirious for the last couple of hours. Also, as cute as my high-heeled silver shoe contraptions were, by the end I felt like I was Walking on Knives, in true mermaid spirit, I suppose. I took about a million pictures, and I will post a bunch later today or tomorrow, but here are a handful in the meantime.

our local pagan festival of setting fire to things and wandering about (waterfire.org) was well stocked with mermaids this weekend, complete with bubble blowing equipment. gargoyles were about as usual.
