The funniest book ever written is Youth in Revolt by C.D. Payne

Seriously. This is the funniest book ever written. This is the consensus of everyone I have ever lent/given/recommended it to.

Jeremy let me borrow it and I was not totally impressed. It was funny, but after about 150-200 pages I quit reading it and never picked it up again. Maybe because I'm young and it felt like I was reading my non-existant younger brother's journal or something.

YES. That book did me some serious internal damage. I love the description of his mother's redneck boyfriend who has no ass and must sit directly on his spine.

you should use it for escapism from your thesis when you need a break.

Speaking of books, I have a request if it's not too much trouble. If you come across a copy of the Motorcycle Diaries in Spanish, I would be very pleased, and would consider it repayment for when you ruthlessly lost my copy of "Chasing Che". Necesito practicar el espanol. Y soy un commie, pero eso tu conoces.

of course! If such a copy is available, would you like one featuring the beautiful bright eyes of My Boyfriend Gael Garcia Bernal?

Hmmm...tempting, but what if I read it on the subway and people are all "Oh, that girl is only interested in Che because of that movie."
I'm half kidding.

At the Independent Spirit Awards, Rodrigo de la Serna won the award for best debut performance for the Motorcycle Diaries, but since he was too busy playing guitar in Argentina to make it to the ceremony, GGB had to accept in his honor. He gave the cutest, most childlike and enthusiastic speech EVER, called Rodrigo the greatest actor of his generation, exclaimed "Tu ganas!" to the camera, etc. He also said "Te quiero" (directed to Rodrigo), which I found interesting, because I didn't think that was something that friends said to each other as an expression of love. Unless my gaydar is totally off and both of them are red hot lovers.

I think that "te quiero" is more informal and can be used as "love you" among friends, whereas "te amo" is Really Serious and Romantic Love declaration.

He is so beautiful, and remember that awesome Oscar speech he made in 2003? He was, like, the only person, aside from Michael Moore, who said ANYTHING against the war.
