The wonderful [livejournal.com profile] theophile supplied me with the new Tori tunes. Unfortunately, I only downloaded a half of the new album or so before my computer went back to the States. So, somebody tell me, is there the usual Neil reference, and if so, where?

Honestly, if it's there, I haven't caught it yet....Have you heard the song with my name in the title? It's really pretty, actually. And I love the 2 & 3rd tracks.

they are pretty well-hidden sometimes. It took me ages before I caught the one on FtCH. Haven't heard the song with your name. I really liked "Sweet The Sting." I like the duet too, except there is that whole thing where Damien Rice creeps me out and that taints anything he does. I like it, though, the way he is an unobtrusive part of the duet reminds me of "Past the Mission," which was the song that got me hooked on her in the first place.

There was this tidbit on NG's blog (Oct. 14th)
http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/2004_10_10_archive.asp

then she called me a couple of months ago to check a few things about Melusine, and sang me the song in which she appears (but has also just told me that that song won't be on this album, and actually is for the one after).

Hey, last night I met Ann Powers-who co-wrote the new Tori bio- and bought the book. And because I've done nothing but come home and read, I've finished it already. Would you want it in another care package?

I think I will wait and borrow it from you once I am back in NYC! Preemptively thank you.

For some reason (problem importing the seed packet in the deluxe edition?) the local rekkid store still hasn't got it.

It's scandalous. The reference to NG is in "sleeps with butterflies":|

airplanes
take you away again
are you flying above where we live
then i look up, a glare in my eyes
are you having regrets about last night
i'm not, but i like rivers that
rush in
so then i dove in
is there trouble ahead for you, the acrobat
i won't push you, unless you have a net

It looks like their friendship has finally, inevitably, deepened into a torrid affair!!!

(There should be a tabloid for the bohemian-sf/fantasy-witty celebrity axis...STEPHIN MERRIT SEEN CANOODLING WITH DANIEL HANDLER. PARTY AT NICK CAVE'S HOUSE TURNS INTO DRUG ORGY, BARGELD ALLEGEDLY IN COMA. WE KNOW WHICH 'BUTTERFLY' TORI IS SLEEPING WITH. )

Either you have given this a lot of thought, or you have a natural knack for this!

A girl from my college either dated Claudia from The Magnetic Fields and dumped her for the chick in Sleater Kinney or the other way around. I can't remember in which other the starfuckery occurred (I say that only in the most descriptive sense, she was/is a very sweet girl from what I remember).

Be assured that I never give anything a lot of thought. Except for the public political discourse of late fourteenth century england. I give that thought like other people give babies milk.

Huh. Kudos on that one. Or possibly ew. I am deeply ambivalent.

i have no idea where you are, or whether you have access to a TV, but if you do and if you are interested in seeing TA perform her "butterflies" song, CBS is re-running her appearance on Letterman tonight (Friday, March 18). the catch is that CBS is also showing the men's college basketball tournament, so you may have to stay up past 1 AM to see her.
