I've been away from the interweb for the last few days, so I missed this. In case you missed it too, I bring you...well, remember, before Jimmy Fallon left SNL he had a brief running sketch called "This is what you did." Okay, Dick Cheney, this is what you did. You wore a snowblower operator outfit to a ceremony commemorating the 60 year anniversary of liberation of Auschwitz

Date: 2005-01-31 02:56 am (UTC)I found his comments at the event more insulting than the parka. I'm a notorious under-dresser, and I don't think dudes from wyoming are going to outdress european leaders. His comments, though, total bullshit. More thinly veiled bullshit remarks about how he's the jolly spreader of freedom and liberty, with not even enough tact to talk for more than a moment about the actual suffering involved with that place. It was like, "Everyone who died here had a name. That's why I spread freedom and liberty in the world, and you should back me up on it, yo."
Dick.

Date: 2005-01-31 05:55 am (UTC)Y'know, my Dad could really give a shit about looking cool, lives in Florida, yet when we went to Paris this winter he purchased a long leather coat and dark items which had people reacting as if he was a local. And he has like 1/1,000 of Dick Cheney's money. It's not that hard.
Dude's the fucking VP. Class it up.
You know that's exactly what the guy in the beard's thinking.
