Please allow me to state here that I am not anti-postmodern, because people who are kneejerk anti-pomo drive me crazy and frequently base their opposition on false premises. In fact, I am pro-postmodern, in the sense of finding a lot of pomo theory incredibly useful and interesting. My position is close (but not identical) to Nica's, which is that pomo is an analytical standpoint and not a plan for living.

I find the American intellectual browbeating over pomo to be a little funny and lotsa annoying. But when I was growing up, I lived in a household where calling someone a 'postmodernist' was an insult. My parents are insane, therefore people who insult postmodernists are insane.
