Meet Porter Goss, a man with the nastiest voting record you can have without being Marilyn Musgrave.
I'm Under Your Spell:
The (apparently prescient) former CIA analyst Ray McGovern had interesting things to say about Porter Goss:
No doubt Goss would be more discreet in showing his hand, but his appointment as director would be the ultimate in politicization. He has long shown himself to be under the spell of Vice President Dick Cheney, and would likely report primarily to him and to White House political adviser Karl Rove rather than to National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice.
Porter Goss, who sounds like he stumbled out of the liner notes of an Edward Grieg opera, is, in fact from the state that brought you the black voters disenfranchisement fiasco in 2000, and is illegally purging voter rolls as I type this.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Katherine Harris, the former Florida election official at the center of the disputed 2000 presidential election who will be sworn in as a new member of the House of Representatives in January, grabbed a key victory on Capitol Hill Thursday.
The win made her the envy of her freshmen congressional class and fortuitously positioned her as she starts her career in Washington...
...Harris selected a suite on the first floor of the Cannon House Office Building, a stone's throw from the Capitol and down the hall from fellow Floridian and political mentor Rep. Porter Goss.
There's a lot of buzz on the more tinfoil-rich websites about the fact that on the morning of 9/11 Porter Goss was meeting with Mahmut Ahmed, the alleged funder of the hijackers, but I think in this case we don't even need to outsource the conspiracy theory elements to Pakistan. It's all about the Sunshine State.
