Date: 2004-08-12 07:13 pm (UTC)some of the things announced are performative things that need spectators, rather than participants at this point, such as the Green Demon who are doing stuff like the recreation of Paul Revere's ride and the crossing of NY Harbor in "the Battle of New Yorktown" in full olde tyme costume. Groups like Billionaires for Bush are also organizing highly performative, in-costume events, althouth they will be having a march and a flash-mob as well.
Obviously, the UFPJ march will the the huge march. There will be lots of various groups engaging in direct action and civil disobedience on the 31st (a31.org)...you should definitely try to come to the 4th World War Screening if you can, it will be screened several times over the course of the week...
the Howl festival on the 24th (http://www.howlfestival.org/) will be a big event and I'm sure there will be tons of groups tabling and flyering and you could get a sense of what will be happening in the next couple of days that you would be interested in participating in...
And feel free to email me at lafemmnica@aol.com if you have any questions...I may not be able to answer all of them, but I'd be happy to try, at least about the projects I am involved with or know about.
