also check out this piece and note that it's from The Guardian. obviously, i have not seen it picked up in US press. Colin Powell is somehow, residually, the last referent to an illusion of decency in our current administration, never mind the fact that they have completely tarnished his reputation. As the old proverb goes, lie down with dogs etcetera. So Doctors Without Borders are going to split, which is not unreasonable, because their mission statement is helping people, rather dying, and BushCo created such an international climate that Red Cross and other international organizations that historically were able to function in war-torn and occupied zones are now hated an executed. And everyone is going to be surprised when Iraq is going to be left without humanitarian aid, and no one is going to remember that ever since we "won" in Afghanistan and the media lenses refocused on Iraq, Taliban has been taking over the territories again and executing international aid workers...
