postcriptum to a previous entry: after watching Flashdance again last night, I think there should also be categories of Dadaist Seduction (the seduction montage between Jennifer Beals and her old icky dandruffed boss) and Industrial Seduction (the subsequent montage of them frolicking among warehouses, plants and various metal installations that look like props from a set of a low-budget Ayn Rand movie, were it shot in the 80s.

now, onto a dream I had last night. I don't remember thw whole dream, just the main part--I was outisde and I found two really cool pieces of furniture, side by side, one orange, one purple-toned. They were interesting contraptions, that don't exist in real life. They consisted of platforms, like for a carousel elevated on metal rods at the top, with attached armchairs hanging off them, and a cute umbrella on top of each one. I did not really understand the function of every part, but I liked it and decided to take the orange one home (the purple one was dilapidated). As I was moving the orange one, I did something to the umbrella, I think because I thought it would not fit in my house, and it disappearted. Then I was back home and someone was asking where the umbrella was. I explained that it flew away and pointed at the sky, where I saw a fiery outline and saw the umbrella returning, and I knew that it was burning because it was going through the atmosphere. It crashed into the house and a fire started. Everyone expects me to put it out. Finally I remember that we have that weird antique-looking fire extinguisher and use it to put the growing flames out. People are sort of around, watching me deal with the fire. Some of the foam from the extinguisher got into my right eye, and it hurt.
