there is a word in russian, "pustotsvet" it's a word for a flower that is indistinguashable from other flowers, but is barren.
too bad there is no equally striking equivalent for that word in english, because it would work as a title for my novel. the literal translation would be "empty blooming" as one word but that does not really work in english...
have lots and lots and lots of work to do before i leave for north carolina on thursday.
