In case you are wondering why I am spending so much time online, it's because I'm trying to finish up my paper for the AAA conference that is due in...gasp...less than a week.

Of course, I procrastinate, because, well, I'm me.

My choice method of procrastination is compulsively reading the news. What's in it for you, you ask?

Well, here are some fun tidbits

The long-brewing showdown between the White House (and DoD and Faderland Security) and The Spooks has gone into overdrive. Personally, I think it would be poetic justice on many levels if the CIA dethroned this Administration.

And here is the annual round-up of the top 25 censored news stories, as compiled by Project Censored.

Finally, here is an AWESOME link that was passed onto me long ago by pnts, I thought I had posted it here, but I don't think I actually did that. Anyway, I shared it with [livejournal.com profile] apropos earlier today, and am sharing it with all of you now. It's news and metanews at once, the news stories reported are mapped in accordance to how old they are and how much media coverage they are getting in relation to each other.

The newsmap is awesome.

I have seen Control Room. One of the people who made it is a friend of mine, so I went to see it as soon as it opened. It is a great film.

Have you seen The Corporation?
