So everyone's abuzz about Bill Clinton's speech at the DNC, and I only caught a small clip, because I didn't get back home from the meeting until really late last night. So, where can I watch the whole damn thing so that I can have a momentary respite from the throbbing that's been rockin' my temples for the last three years two weeks, and pretend that he is still the President?

postcriptum to my cyber-roommate pnts: we should try to find a rerun tonight?

[On Edit: They are about to rerun it on CSPAN. Hillary is speaking now; I have to leave, but I'm gonna tape it. Thanks for the link, [livejournal.com profile] watchamacallit!]

You can read the transcript or watch the video from that site. The speech was fantastic.

shit I missed it...George McGovern is on now, from 1972.

I think they will rerun it again...Jimmy Carter was re-ran before, but from, like, now, rather than the 1970s. That sentence was complicated.

you can also go to c-span.org for jimmy carter's speech (which was more sharply critical). i thought clinton rushed -- too many significant phrases were said without pause and pretty much without emphasis. blame the tv networks.

did you see barack obama's speech? he's the most gifted political speaker i've seen in my life. (i never saw martin luther king, malcom X, or the kennedys speak.) i wasn't excited by his speech but i was impressed by his gift. i think it's too early to know whether he'll use that gift to do or advance something significant. he delivered his speech the way i wish clinton could have given his.
