lapsedmodernistSpent all morning putting together the tape for the new show, Reality Iraq. Spend all afternoon at the MNN studios PA-ing for the taping of the pilot in subzero temperature. Finally realized that I've been having audio dyslexia for the last week, because I kept asking people who were "going to be on Air America tonight" where they were flying to. Had dinner with a high school friend I hadn't seen in years at an Ethiopian restaurant on the West Side. Ambitiously decided to walk from 44th & 10th to the 8th Avenue L stop in my second-most comfortable pair of shoes. Quickly demoted the shoes. totalvirility, since my cellphone is dead, dead, dead and it sucks, tried to get him to call me back on the payphone, but couldn't outsmart the New York City Department of Public Telephones or whatever, because the phone would ring promisingly, but click over to dead air as soon as I'd pick up. Had an episode of dystopian dyslexia right before I got on the L, where I misread a plaque that said Saul Goldman (I think) Deli as Soylent Green Deli. Didn't have time to do launry. Going to Boston tomorrow for the Social Forum. I suppose I'd better go dig through the weird clothes I feel ambivalently about shelf of my closet. Or I could just wear the same pair of jeans all weekend, which is probably what I will end up doing.
Oh, and my French press has finally migrated to the office. I named it Le Monde. It's funny if you are me.
