new community

Hey everyone. I started a new community, rncnotwelcome.

The Republicans are coming. The Republican National Convention is happening in New York from August 29th until September 2nd. The Bush administration wants to further exploit the tragedy of September 11th to help them "win" another four years in office, four more years of illegal wars, international aggression, erosion of civil liberties, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and abuse of the environment. This community is for all of us in New York who DO NOT WANT them here. There are many organizations and individuals in New York who are preparing to protest the RNC. This is a place to share information, discuss ideas, and provide support for everyone who is involved or is planning to be involved in letting the Republicans know that they are not welcome on our streets.

i applaud these efforts at coordination.

my only issue is that, although i am no fan of republicans in general, and certainly don't agree with the party's views, i think it's unfortunate for many of the sheep that blindly follow and call themselves republicans, to be associated with and led by a group of fascists. their ignorance is their greatest flaw. unfortunately for the rest of us, it's that ignorance that has fucked up the world over the last 3 1/2 years, and threatens to do even more irreparable damage in the years to come.

i am all for barring the fascists from returning to the city and people they helped damage. but if there was any way to re-educate the sheep, that would be by far a greater accomplishment.

yeah, that appears to be the case. but now that the cabal has had time to formulate a reaction to moore's film and to the few, newly-emboldened mediates, they're back to rewriting history again.

i can't even imagine what this convention will be like on the inside. i'm pretty sure it would make me physically ill. ugh...
