Nov. 26th, 2003 01:53 pmOh my god, there is an online dating site for Ayn Rand admirers. I think it's hilarious because between ages of 16 to 18, Ayn Rand played a large role in facilitating my relationships and hookups. In fact, my first boyfriend and I got together because he used the pretext of needing the questions for the annual Fountainhead essay competition to get my phone number. The first time he kissed me, was immediately after flipping through my worn copy of Atlas Shrugged that was peppered with graphs illustrating the range of political philosophies, with fascism and communism converging. Several friends I had got together with their boyfriends/girlfriends while discussing the finer points of objectivism. Boys strutted around trying to be Howard Roarks and girls tormented themselves trying to play Dominique Francon to them. Dude, when you are 16, boys who like Ayn Rand are hot.
remsaverem will back me on this, I know.
