well. that's a very my mother thing to send. she sends them every time. usually she sends toilet paper too. the toilet paper i guess she thinks doubles as protective stuffing but the gloves and the cleaning supplies are just what my mom is about. yep.

i was going to make some crack about how you should employ all those objects simultaneously, until i realized how easy, and weirdly charming, that would be.

Completely uncharacteristically, my mother also sent me a care package yesterday. It contained:
-a ziploc bag full of loose packets of emergen-C
-a bag of organic flax seed (I don't know)
-some elderberry syrup
-cod liver oil
-echinacea
-cough drops
-a little pin shaped like a cat, attached to a post-it note reading "chango?" which made me really, obscurely but intensely upset. It's a PIN SHAPED LIKE A CAT.
and
(attention [livejournal.com profile] claudelemonde, netty pot instructions

i got cod liver oil in the package too. and speaking of emergen-C, i found like three packets that i had and forgot about from when we went to the health food store. from like two months ago. i guess the void got it back. i am sorry about the pin. does it actually have a cat depicted on it, or is it just a shape? do you feel better?

p.s. have you talked to your mom? is there any news about when my roommate may be returning?

I haven't, because of my divestment campaign, but [livejournal.com profile] superchango talked to her bc she sent him a birthday present :( and it looks like [livejournal.com profile] constintina is extremely sick, and I'm really worried, like she had all these other things on top of the mono, and ended up in the ER with 106 degree fever. My mother apparently said something about her (c) not being back here anytime soon, but that of course may be her empty (one flew over the cuckoo's) nest wishful thinking.

jesus. 106 is really really high. that's, like, 41 C. what else is going on with her on top of mono? well, one way in which it's good that she is home is that she is probably smoking less than she was here...i know i always feel like if i just have one cigarette when i am sick, it prolongs it for that much longer...of course it might be psychosomatic, but still. she should not have been smoking at all. i sent her an email a few days ago asking how she was doing and never heard back...i am guessing she is not online much. um, if she is not going to be back for a while, i kind of have to wonder about rent, because mike is going to come knocking on our (comprimised kitchen) door come monday morning. oy vey.
