weekend adventures and misadventures

so i went to lake atitlan this weekend. it's truly gorgeous. according to the mayan legends it was one of the first four corners of the world. first i went to panajachel, this touristy place that makes me think that's what cuba will look like when castro finally dies. but then it was onward to san pedro, a lazy chill beautiful village where hostel owners offer herbal recreationa nda bearded man wanders around selling "space cookies". i went swimming in the lake at night, which was intense, and at dawn, which was glorious, shit i sound like a hippie. then on the way back i got my wallet stolen. thankfully my credit cards and money weren't in it, there was the equivalentof maybe 5 dollars there but all my IDs and my parents' pics were there...as was my debit card...it just sucks it's not like there is anything the thief can use there...whatever...
oh and there are bedbugs, as in creatures from the child's rhyme in my bed. and those fuckers really do bite.

so i stayed up all night in order to stay up all day and get to bed at a decent time.

in theory.

somehow later at night i always get this additional surge of energy, stay up to late, and end up sleeping til the afternoon. i'll email ya when i'm done installing games (which at this point looks like it will be never...)

i have done the staying up late so many times, it's my secret weapon against jetlag. however, more often than not it lands me in a pattern where i sleep till 5 and then don't go to bed till like 7 a.m. at which point the concept of staying up all night has become moot. which games are you installing? i am trying to rent an apt. over email and it is difficult and frustrating . plus there is a potluck at school tomorrow. i hate sounding like a party pooper but i hate official potlucks.
yay, we'll be able to chat again in a couple of weeks!

heh. they sound so horrid. all i can think of is oberlin, that crappy ass food, freshman checking everyone out covertly because their parents are there, and the upper classmen sitting on the steps to check the 'fresh meat' out.

potlucks.. can't they revamp them into something more desirable?

when the hell do you get back? i very much want to move up to new york, the prospect is so tempting (to live with another female and not insane cocks) and i'm lookin for jobs... but i don't know if i can swing it...

i'll keep looking...
