Totological: tautological via Bush. For example, during that cracked-out press conference with Bush and Blair that they only aired on CNN at 6 in the morning and never reran, where it looked like Bush was on some TV crack, and was completely getting confused in some insane metaphor of the ten fingers (that he was also trying to perform in the moment) and Blair looked like he wanted to die, and in response to some (obviously foreign) correspondent asking Bush what it meant that the UN would have a vital role in the reconstruction of Iraq (i guess we all know what that meant now, huh?), and Bush replied "When we say a vital role, we mean a vital role. We mean what we say, and so we say what we mean, and when we say a vital role, that's exactly what we mean, a role that will be vital" (if I am misquoting here, believe me, i am erring on the side of lucidity). That was a Totology. Anyway, "Totological" is a Bushism on account of the wrongspelling due to the kind of confused cultural dyslexia that seems to be his default communicative model, but it's also, like "Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore. We're in Texas. And that's why yee-haw is our foreign policy now."

Oy.

I love this morning's quote, "Terrorists will not receive WMD's from the Iraqi regime because it is no more..." You mean the WMD's that have yet to be found? Nice deflection there, Dubya, I bet - hey, look! Mass Graves!

Or, last month I think it was, when trying to get his tax cut passed, to a group of blue collar types, "If y'all want a tax cut, then y'all need to speak up, because when you speak up the politicians tend to listen." Right. Like he listened to the protesters... he didn't turn on the football game like Nixon did (as far as we know) But I do recall him saying that the protesters would have no impact on his decision making.

Which aren't exactly additions to the dyslexicon... it just seems to me that everyone has stopped caring since the shooting war stopped. Wait, de-escalated? Whatever.

Argh.

so in this new york times article bush not only declares that he is, "judge and enforcer" of events in the middle east, he also seems entirely baffled that when he used the term, "ride the herd" in a meeting NO ONE UNDERSTOOD HIM. i'm sorry dubya, but when did texan become a global culture?

I cannot imagine the plates of shit that Blair has been forced to eat, first at the hands of our government (which must have shown him snapshots from the possible future showing his daughters being sodomized by gian, razor-cocked robot CIA agents) when we wanted war support, and then at the hands of the rest of the world for his utter betrayal of what he and everybody else knows was the right thing. His mouth must be as nutty as a praline.

I don't want to talk about the other guy. Ever. Again.

dude

even the CIA is at odds with BushCo now.
their tenure outlasts 4/8 year presidential terms, and their loyalty is not to a specific president. they are concerned with preserving their PR and cred.
