The other night [livejournal.com profile] theophile brought home this book by a photographer I had never heard of, Luc Delahaye. He thought I would dig it because it was all about Russia...but above and beyond that, the photography is amazing.

In some ways his style reminds me of Misty Keasler's work

And he is hot, too.

the photography in the book is even better; I just put up the few examples I could find on the interwebs.

I have not read Helmet, but I have read some of Pelevin's short stories, and this looks good. I will ask my father to pick me up a copy in Russian when he is in Moscow over the summer.

also, repeating myself, but he is SO hot! in that Magnum-war photographer way.

(Actually, I just checked, and he IS a Magnum photographer, I was right!)

Of course, perhaps that is a good publicity shot. I can't find other pics of him.

Lovely. The middle one reminds me of Nan Goldin.

yeah, I can see that, esp. the colors and the sort of claustrophobic sense of s[ace.

I love her stuff. This stuff reminded me of her Russian orphanages series, and a bit of her Guatemala City Dump photos...but did you see her series on the Japanese love hotels?
