"But what the Plame leak investigation has unveiled is what the press should have been focusing on long before and without let up--how we went to war, the dishonesty involved in that process in terms of what the president and vice-president told the American people and the Congress, and the routine smearing by members of the Bush administration of people who questioned their actions and motives."

Thank you, Carl Bernstein, for not being a complacent pussy like Bob Woodward, who says the Plame case is just cocktail hour gossip and he doesn't know what it has to do with the war. Then, again, Woodward was always more about the bling-bling of being a celebrity journalist, part of the neoconcorp elite via the fourth estate. Woodward could have BROKEN this story, because he certainly had the access that people like Bernstein and Hersh don't have today, but he was too busy kissing ass. Plan of Attack? Pleeeeez! Glossy self-contained point-counterpoint of "nasty gossip shows some ineptitude in the administration VS BUT THE PEOPLE WHO CARRIED OUT THE WAR HAD DEEP CONVICTION AND COURAGE." Endorsed as recommented reading by the Bush/Cheney reelection campaign. 'Nuff said.
